The Community Development Team recently consulted with the residents at St Andrew’s Cottages, Windsor, about the social activities they have. Residents said that at this stage they did not want to hold regular activities but would be keen to make more use of the outside area. It was suggested that the residents at St Andrew’s could apply for a Community Chest and Green Finger Grant via Community Link so that some raised beds could be put in place to make the area more appealing and colourful as a number of residents in the scheme enjoy gardening.
An application was put in by William Rawling and Community Link approved both grants, work began in July and has now been completed although the plants etc are still a work in process. Community Development donated a table and chairs to the scheme so now the beds are in place the residents can sit and enjoy the sunshine in a relaxing environment.
A coffee morning was held for the residents and Community Link was invited along to see how their funding had been spent.
