The Parks FC is a community football team who will be playing in the Bracknell Sunday Football League from September 2011. We are currently seeking any players who live on The Parks or in the local vicinity to come and join us. Due to the funding we have received we are able to offer discounts on subscriptions and signing on fees, which in the current climate, will benefit the local community and enable people to get involved. We are seeking players who are at least 17 years old and are able to commit to Sunday mornings for games and training once a week on Thursdays at 6.30 pm. For further information please see the contact details at the bottom of the page.
Youth Team
In the next two months we will be developing a youth team and we will be seeking players from the estate to participate. Once again we will be able to offer discounts to the local community to enable the local youth to participate.
Youth Football Coaching
As part of our commitment to getting the community involved in sport, The Parks FC will be offering free football coaching to all U16s on the estate, once a week for one and half hours. This will give youngsters who may not feel able to or who may not want to play for our team the opportunity to get fit and gain additional football knowledge and football skills. Enhanced CRBs are in place and our four youth coaches are all F.A approved. This will be free for all residents of The Parks and minimal charges will be made for youngsters from the immediate surrounding area. We will notify interested parties when we are going to start the sessions.
For further information or for notifications regarding our various activities then please feel free to email us or contact us directly.
If you are interested in getting involved in some other way then please also contact us.

‘Community Spirit Day’ boosts neighbourhood prideOver a hundred residents attended a Community Spirit Day at Sawyers Close in Windsor, organised by the Sawyers Close Residents’ Association (SCRA) and opened by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Councillor Asghar Majeed. There were a host of activities that would teach the community how to make their neighbourhood a better and safer place, such as CPR and recycling, with fun to promote awareness of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) on the Sawyers Close estate, where many of the homes are rented from Radian.
Through the projects and groups run by the residents association and supported by Radian, anti-social behaviour on the estate has been reduced by 70 per cent. Residents both young and old have been given the chance to take part in activities, such as bingo sessions, day trips and community events. Work on the estate means new gardens have been planted where before there was just rubble; and as a result residents feel closer to their community and have a stronger sense of pride in their neighbourhood.
Carol McCall, Chair of SCRA, said: “It was a brilliant day and has brought us all together. It has got a new lot of residents on board and involved in planning for our Jubilee party next year. Radian staff were brilliant, especially our Housing Officer, Duncan Holden, who took time out of his holiday to come along.”
The invitation to the Community Spirit Day was open to all Sawyers residents and there was plenty of interest from the children for the graffiti workshop that discouraged vandalism and promoted art. A treasure hunt and other fun activities were run by partnership agencies such as the Community Wardens and PCSO, as well as a free BBQ, all funded by a grant from Radian. The day provided an ideal opportunity for residents to speak to Radian’s Thames Community Development team about any funding for grants they wanted to apply for or any queries they may have had.
Rachel Salter, Radian’s Thames Community team leader, said: “We were delighted to support this event. It was delivered by local residents for local residents and it let local people talk about what Antisocial behaviour is, how it impacts on them and how they can work as a community to tackle it with Radians support”
Sawyer’s Community Spirit Day and other projects aim to help raise awareness of anti-social behaviour and make the local community a better, safer place to live. Queensgate opening ceremony
Radian has built 478 new homes during the financial year ending 31 March.
That’s thanks to our Development Team across three offices in Eastleigh, Petersfield and Windsor. As well as building new homes, they secure grant-funding, liaise with local authorities, obtain planning consents and buy land. Additionally, they manage our building contractors, consultants and legal services.

Development also hosts a design panel with residents to look at architects’ plans, to make constructive criticisms and improvements for our new homes.
Here are just a few examples of what the team has achieved: Just off the Queens Roundabout in Farnborough, we’ve built the first 29 homes on the Queensgate development. It’s a mix of homes for sale, private and affordable rent and shared ownership.

Fullerton Place
Windsor residents are helping us monitor new technologies to check that we use the most cost-effective resources available. We’ve built nine three-bed houses on former garage courts in Jab Close, off Lovejoy Lane. They have photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, solar panels to help heat water and high levels of insulation.

Stoneham Cemetery Road
The Development Team negotiated buying 11 family houses and 90 flats in Fullerton Place, Southampton. Local businesses gave a welcome hamper for every home which included a free dinner from Pizza Hut, along with cleaning products and basic food supplies from Waitrose.
Randall Court in Old Windsor, A derelict sheltered scheme has recently been redeveloped to produce six attractive town houses alongside some large apartments, built specifically for the over-55s. Lyndwood Drive where they are based is a cul-de-sac, and so the residents living across from these new homes were given the chance to take a look around them before they were inhabited.

We have recently started building 11 eco-homes for affordable rent in Stoneham Cemetery Road, Southampton. Latest environmental technology is being used so that the homes achieve the highest level of sustainable recognition. These will be code level 6 homes and at present very few exist in the country.
The old Alliance House in Portsmouth was a dilapidated communal building which was originally a corset factory. Whilst building a new block of highly attractive apartments on its site, we became aware that across the road at City Girls Senior School, a memorial was needed. This was for a former pupil who had died after a fight against cancer. The builders happily crossed the road and built something for the teachers and students to remember their friend by.

A resident from the Heatherlands Estate, Headley Down in Hampshire called police after somebody tried to gain access to her property. The man claimed to be from Drum and produced an ID which the quick-witted resident realised was not real.
She shut the door on the man and immediately reported the incident to Crimestopppers. A man, who had apparently tried to gain access to six other properties, was arrested on 23 June.
Always remember to check the ID credentials of anyone who tries to gain access to your property and always take a close look at it. This is your right! If they just hold up what appears to be an ID card, insist on taking a closer look at it!
All Radian visitors will have an ID card which they will be happy to show you on arrival at your property.
