Radians residents have a number of groups and associations within our communities, where residents get together to tackle local issues, to feedback their ideas and opinions to Radian about local services and to arrange and enjoy social events together. Below are some of the residents associations that exist in our communities. If you are interested in setting up a residents group or residents association we would really like to help you!
To contact an existing group please contact the team member listed by the group. To set up a new resident group please contact the Thames Community Involvement Team by calling Radian Direct on 0300 123 1567 or please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Sawyers Close Residents Association(SCRA) was first established 11 years ago. It is a group of 20 active Radian residents who live at Sawyers Close Estate, Dedworth in Windsor.
SCRA does a huge amount of work with the residents who live on the estate. For example they provide positive and affordable activities for the after school Kids Club which is held every week on a Friday night. They hold weekly bingo nights for elderly residents which encourages socialisation. The group also organises community events such as a ‘Summer Fun Day’ which was aimed at increasing community cohesion. SCRA also works very closely with and involves statutory bodies like Thames Valley Police’s Community Wardens and the Police in community activities to boost partnership working and engagement between the bodies and the local community.
SCRA’s chair, Carol McCall, is a great asset to Sawyers Close as she is involved in several of Radian’s resident involvement panels. She is also a member of other groups such as Community Crime Fighters, The Manor Youth Panel, RBWM’s Street Angels and lots more! Carol is also the Chair of Neighbourhood Action Group Clewer, Dedworth and Oakley Green. This has resulted in great partnership working for Sawyers Close which has provided SCRA with a number of opportunities and a variety of ways for residents to get involved with their community.
All members of SCRA are extremely dedicated to the work they do and thoroughly enjoy organising the fun days and activities for their community to enjoy along with their families. SCRA are doing a fantastic job for the community at Sawyers Close and are a shining example of a successful residents association. They have recently won ‘Group Volunteer of the Year Award’ from Windsor & Maidenhead Voluntary Action.
