Resident Audit 2011

The Resident Audit, November 2011 - A chance to have your say!

If you are wondering what a Resident Audit is here is your chance to find out more and get involved! Radian is committed to engaging with its residents and one way of doing this is to give opportunities for our service to be looked at by our residents.

Each year a team of residents come into the organisation to look at one aspect of the service we provide, in 2010 the auditors looked at the process used when dealing with void properties. This year we are looking at disabled adaptations. The project includes training which covers the various methods used for inspections, communication skills that you may require, report writing, plus an opportunity to discuss any difficulties that you may encounter. A few weeks later you will be required to visit the Radian offices and begin the audit. This will include speaking to members of staff and possibly talking to customers about the service that is provided. After you have carried out the audit you will be required to come back at a later date to provide feedback on your observations.

Please note that as an auditor you may be required to visit any of our offices which are based in the following locations. Transport to and from locations will be arranged:

Windsor
Petersfield
Eastleigh
Ringwood

If you are looking to get back into work then this is an ideal opportunity to get some current workplace experience on a really important project. Radian will cover any childcare and transport costs and as a ‘thank you’ you will receive a gift voucher for carrying out the audit.

If you are thinking – ‘will our work make a difference?’ then please continue to read.

The Resident Audit is an important piece of work because it shows that we are listening to the views of our residents and giving them an opportunity to influence the service that we provide. After the Resident Audit in 2010 a review was carried out on the decorating allowance & the satisfaction surveys across Radian.

The audit for 2011 is currently underway. However if you would like to be part of future audits please contact Katie Hutchinson - Community Development Officer (Thames) on 0300 123 1 567 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Thames Youth Forum

Wanted! Young people and your ideas!

 Children1

At Radian we believe the future is You! If you are between the ages of 11-18 years old and have ideas about how your local neighbourhood could be improved for young people, we would love to hear from you.

We are planning to set up a local Youth Forum that will give you the chance to share your ideas and concerns for your area in which you live. The Forum will be open to all sorts of ideas - you may want to set up your own cinema club, introduce street dance lessons or have an input into the design of new houses in your area. Whatever the topic, we are listening!

You’ll be able to decide where and when we meet, and we will sort out transport to get you there and back again.

Your views are important to us so please give some thought into joining. We are sure there are some new, exciting and creative ideas out there just waiting to be put into practice!

Adopt a Close - Sawyers Close

Do you live in Sawyers Close? Your community needs you!

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) along with Sawyers Close Residents Association (SCRA) are launching a new initiative on Friday 17th February in the close. The scheme will be a long term 'love your community' event involving volunteers helping to keep the close bright, clean and tidy - a better place for all residents to live. All required equipment has been provided and the local press will be present on the day to promote the hard work you put in. With the Olympics not too far away, why not help spruce up the close to impress the tourists and visitors, due to arrive in the Summer, with your community spirit?

As well as local residents being present there will be Radian staff, The Borough's Community Wardens, Members from SCRA and the Borough Streetcare Officers. Come along and see how much of a positive impact an hours worth of volunteering has on your community.

For further information please contact RBWM Community Safety Department on 01628 685636 or visit http://www.rbwmsafety4all.org.uk/
